Dr. Zlitni is a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Radiology and the Molecular Imaging Program at Stanford (MIPS). He received his PhD degree from McMaster University where he worked on several multidisciplinary projects that focused on the development of molecular imaging agents for ultrasound, optical and radio imaging of cancer. At Stanford, his research focuses on developing small-molecule-, antibody- and nanoparticle- based imaging agents for fluorescence, ultrasound and photoacoustic imaging to diagnose diseases such as cancer and bacterial infections. His ultimate goal is to be an independent scientist and run a research group dedicated to the application of chemical and biochemical techniques which can help detect and treat diseases such as cancer and infection.
